OVERVIEW

Integrating Rate Adjustment Program to Mortgage Consultant Platform helped enhance user experience by streamlining the process and automating many manual tasks. With the new platform, users can easily access and manage client information, automate document management, and facilitate communication between all parties involved. The result is a more efficient and user-friendly process that saves time and reduces errors. Overall, the platform redesign has been well received by users and hopes to lead to improved satisfaction and productivity once in production.

CHALLENGE

Working with different stakeholders can be challenging, as each stakeholder may have different goals, priorities, and perspectives. Facing various constraints, such as budget, time, and technology limitations, can be a challenge for a UX designer. However, these constraints can also inspire creative solutions and drive innovation.

GOAL

My goal was to redesign the tool to be integrated into the mortgage consultant platform, in order to provide a better user experience, streamline the mortgage process, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of information.

Before

Prior to the redesign, users were required to track information manually and handoff was time-consuming.

Design Methodology

I work in an agile design process that involves constant collaboration with various stakeholders, including the product manager, design lead, and development team. This approach helps ensure that the end product meets the needs of the users and is delivered on time.

Centralized Information

Providing a single location for all client data, documents and communication, enabling easy access and management of information for all parties involved in the mortgage process.​

Improved User Experience

Integrating the rate adjustment program with the mortgage consultant tool will provide a seamless and consistent experience for users. They will not have to navigate between multiple tools to get the information they need, making the process of obtaining a mortgage smoother and more intuitive.

Smooth Handoff

Smooth handoff between mortgage consultants and private bankers ensures a seamless transition of client information and continuity of service, allowing for efficient and effective management of the RAP process.

UX Audits

During a UX audit, I typically conduct a thorough review of the product's design and functionality, analyzing everything from the visual design to the user flows and interactions. This involves examining the product from the perspective of the end user, considering factors such as usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction.

I make recommendations for improvements based on my findings. This may involve suggesting changes to the design or functionality of the product, or proposing new features or functionality that can help improve the overall user experience.

The key takeaways from doing the project of integrating the rate adjustment program into the existing mortgage consultant tool are as follows:

  1. Collaboration: The project also highlights the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders, including the product manager, design lead, development team, and end users. By working together, the team was able to find solutions that met the needs of all parties and create a better user experience.

  2. Importance of Feedback: The weekly meetings with end users to gather feedback on the design were critical to the success of the project. By incorporating user feedback, the design team was able to make informed decisions about the design and create a product that meets the needs of the users.

  3. Adaptability: The agile design process used in the project highlights the importance of adaptability and the ability to pivot when faced with challenges or constraints. By being open to change and flexible in their approach, the design team was able to create a product that meets the needs of the users and the project goals.

I had so much fun doing this project and learning the context in which the product will be used while meeting so many people who have supported me and this product along the way. Can’t wait to enhance it during MVP 2
